This painting was commissioned by a very sweet couple in Bloomington who lived in this old house they had completely renovated in a historic neighborhood just north of downtown. I usually take on commissions with a slight reservation as I am worried the buyers vision will disagree with mine .. there's just so many things that can go awry and I kinda have a history of being stubborn so there's that too. Anyway, I offered to show them the composition before I committed to it and they didn't even want to see it. They wanted to be surprised all at once at the very end. They were absolutely amazing and I will never forget Mr. Robert's smile when I finally delivered the finished painting .. I would have painted this for free if I had known it was gonna create that smile.
